War News for April 6, 2004 - Supplemental Edition Madhi Army takes Najaf. This is bad. Really bad. Aside from the symbolic victory it gives the Madhi forces, it means the Coalition forces - already stretched thin - must take it back because Najaf sits squarely on the main supply route between the logistics bases in Kuwait and forward operating bases in Baghdad and all points north. Meanwhile, Lieutenant AWOL throws the first pitch at the Cardinals - Brewers game in Milwaukee. Lieutenant AWOL throws a baseball like a teenage girl and smirks like a chimp.
